I went to a screening of Perks of Being a Wallflower at TIFF today. Having not read the book, I wasn't sure what to expect but I really enjoyed the movie. Emma was great and really aced her character and of course, the accent. I especially thought she did well in the scene where she and Charline talk about her past and her first kiss, etc. I loved the character Patrick, Emma's character's step brother, because he was absolutely hilarious and also really deep - Ezra Miller is a brilliant actor! Logan Lerman hit the main role perfectly in every way. I also really liked Mary Elizabeth's character, because her relationship with Charlie is definitely one that can relate to a lot of relationships in high school. She was really funny, a Buddist punk haha. And of course as everyone has been saying, the music was great and so was the screenplay. My favourite scenes were the truth or dare, Christmas party, Charlie's first advanced English class and the very end.
I highly reccomend this film when it gets to your theater - probably for 14 and up it's appropriate. If you're not sure, go on imdb or read the book.
